Methyl salicylate (Methyl salicylate) is an organic compound produced by combining the hydroxyl group of methanol and the carboxyl group of salicylic acid, also known as wintergreen oil (extracted from wintergreen tree).It is a colorless oily liquid with the fragrance of holly leaves. Easily soluble in ethanol, ether, glacial acetic acid, slightly soluble in water.
